2025 - ongoing

Back in 2025, I started recording compositions made at locations I visit using found and scavenged items such as rocks, metal, seaweed, twigs, and general detritus.

I suppose that they are a sort of sound postcard of the places I visit, and I find that they enhance my connection to the landscape as I scour environments for natural and man-made items to make sound with.

Compositions are arranged based on a graphic score created in situ by overlaying musical staves on top of an image taken at the location. So far I have made these location detritus compositions in Suffolk, Dorset, the Peak District, France and the Netherlands.

All items used in the recordings are returned to the landscape where they were found (apart from any rubbish, which is binned).
